I spent a couple of days getting info, plus my life's a real mess as of late.....so.... here's the couple of things I could think of: Labels Watts hasn't bothered to carry: ersatz (detroit) fax (not as of late) plug research (turned down first three releases, but liked the packaging on the comp, so they'll consider four (!!)) environs (morgan geist's label) dum (not until they were picked up by plastic head) sahko (were ordering like four copies of _some_ of the first couple, only now buying in quantity since plastic head picked them up) utrax (passed on first three, possibly the label's best, rendering them non-existant to the US audience) touch electrip-c (maybe now, but not initially) lots of the Dance Opera offshoots (zolex, circus, etc) It took them over a year to get axis 009 (!) irdial (very patchy until recently) Harry, the main buyer (import) at Watts told me that in general, a label has to be fairly large for them to buy it, 'cause their suppliers in Europe are fairly "commercially" slanted with e-music... Alternatives: Nemisis (516)764-5180 7th City (313)963-4737 Submerge (fax) (313)963-0213 I'm sure there's lots more to add here, but my memory isn't that good.. I hope this helps... BTW as far as guides to putting out indie releases, one of the best I've seen is put out by Simple Machines records and can be acquired by just calling them.. As for their number, I can't help you on that one... .., ........, .........., .........., ........, .., B.U.a.R.P.
