There are PLENTY of tools out there that work for live sequencin just as
well (if not better) than the mmt8, and many of them make better studio
pieces as well. Not that I am up for telling what pieces I mean ( I have
to keep some secrets ;).
The mmt8 is DEFINITELY a huge winner in the bang-for-the-buck category,
but you do not "have to have one" to play live as previously mentioned.
