jungle isn't bad because of the hype... but you have to admit that it is the most highly hyped genre of the moment... (electro gets almost no play in the mags i read.)

hype is not real. that's the definition of hype. don't believe the hype. (hey chuck they must be smokin' that pipe, right?!) anyway, i've heard a fair number of those artists you list. i even like some of them. not as much as you do apparently. that seems to irk some people.

when am i qualified to talk about it then? when i own 50 jungle CDs? i have no problem saying that almost everything i've heard is way too boring to listen to at home, despite this "intelligent jungle" appellation that's being tossed around, as if calling something intelligent automatically makes it interesting. didn't work for techno, ain't working for jungle. the eat static track gets me all hot 'n' sweaty though. next time i'm in the mood to write a jungle track, i'm gonna take THAT as my inspiration. and as i said, you'll all have the chance to judge my jungle ability. now that cyborganic's web server is accessible over a T1 i will look into putting a sample of it up for public consumption.
