Looks like were in a debate over semantics here. 1.)$6 difference in price tag (between domestic and import) might not be a lot to some, but it is to me. 2.) my exact words (this time) were "distributed as a domestic." If Astralwerks had slapped a sticker on it, would it have made a difference? As the initial post by AW to this mailing list stated, AW ordered 9800 copies of a release that was to be limited to 10,000 copies in the UK--- ie. in order to do this they must have planned in advance to have the extra US copies manufactured and imported). This trivial issue aside, has anyone notice the number of discs being distributed in the US for domestic prices? It seems there's been a lot in the past year (PSB's Very Relentless, Freezone vol.1, the Solar Quest cd, I've even seen the Ambient Dub vols 1-3 new for $12.99 each, Another Fine Day, and many others).I've also seen more stores price newly released imports for less than usual ($13.99-$17.99). At the same time, anybody notice Tower's markup of domestic CD's? (from $14.99 to $15.99)? Pretty soon domestics and imports will be the same $? Anybody know what's going on here? (It's not NAFTA or GATT and it's not the value of the dollar either).
