There is a pretty good acid compilation called "Acid House Classics" on
Touchstone (UK). 20 tracks by the likes of Mr Lee, DJ Pierre, Maurice
Joshua, Jack Frost & others. Acid Trax is not on it, tho :(
Rhino Records (US) has a pretty cool electro comp called "Street
Jams-Electric Funk" I have the first two volumes.
Volume 1 has Planet Rock ( Afrika Bambaata & SSF), Electric Kingdom
(Twilight 22), Play at your own risk (Planet Patrol), Mirda Rock (Reggie
Griffin & Technofunk), Who you stealin from (Guru), Al-Naafiysh (Hashim),
Clear (Cybotron), Release Yourself (Aleem), Rockit (Herbie Hancock), Jam
on revenge (Newcleus), Crazy Cuts (Gradmixer D.ST. & Bernard Fowler), D.ST.
also has a mega mix on it
Volume 2 has Siberian NIghts (twilight 22), Computer Age (Newcleus), Egypt,
Egypt (the Egyptian Lover), Pack Jam (the Jonzun Crew), R-9 (Cybotron),
Jam on it (Newcleus), 122 BPM (Jive Rhythm Trax), Let the music play
(Shannon), Young Ladies (Fast Lane) and Funky Little Beat (Connie). the
volume goes into freestyle but it is still cool.
Rhino has put out some great Hip-Hop, Soul and Funk compilations. I wouldnt
be surprised if they come out with an acid house one in the Phuture ;-)
