Just my 2 cents on the current Hawtin debate. My first
exposure to RH was when he toured with Moby as Cybersonik a
few years ago. I was blown away. Until then I had never heard
such darn good techno apart from Underground Resistance. I do
think, in fact, that his best stuff is the hard, minimal
danceable stuff (like "Train-trac", which is just brilliant)
but I thought that "Sheet One" was miserable--just a lot of
noodly vacuous sound effects going nowhere. For that reason, I
have been avoiding "Musik".
A happy, hard and stompin' (and thinkin') 1995 to all.
