A lot of post have appeared recently about the Dust Bros requesting info
so here's what I know:
First off they have been heavily associated with the Beastie Boys producing
and cowriting stuff on their Capitol releases
They've also produced and mixed some soul 45s on colored vinyl that were total
cool cool ear;y seventies late sixties sounding. The label escapes me I
think it was something like Soul Slinger but don't hold me to that.
As some one else mentioned the Prodigy and St. Ettiene mixes
I have seen three EPs on Junior Boys Own. There was an early one the name
of which escapes me. I have "14th Century Sky" 4track 12" and
"MercuryMouth" 3 track 12" both are totally smooth. If you see them-BUY THEM.
They also have a track on the Junior Boys Own Compilation "Collect Junior
Boys Own" a worthy comp but not necessarily IDM. In fact the DBs are more
trip hop/dub than IDM (IMHO), but I think they are soooo slick. I've heard
hither and thither that they have an LP in the works but it could be rumor.
If you see Junior Boys Own buy it its probably good. On a related tip,
How about Haunted Dancehall by Sabres of Paradise. Mmmm Mmmm Good Dub.
