OK I should have mentioned these earlier but I forgot to... (duh!) Scott Edwards - Distant Horizons CD... Anyone seen this? Very nice melodic/ambient techno. The guy isnt "on the edge" but he's making some nice stuff... love his improvisational solos and stuff. He takes mellow chords/strings/melodies, but drops them over some hook or another... the odd bassline or analogue tweak. Good for listening to at home but, like I said, not exactly mind-blowingly experimental. The Sunkings - Hall of Heads CD (GPR)... Am I right? Did this only come out on CD/MC? If so why? There was hardly any fuss over this CD, which surprises me because the CD is fuggin good. Sounds like Edgar Froese on a cosmic electronic trip. Adds more to the current ambient scene than some atmospheric pads and echoey bleepy noises, that cant be denied. These people have put _loads_ of effort into this, the least you lot can do is buy it! And while I'm on the subject, has anyone got their "Heart of the Sun" 12? Weird stuff too... the analogue synths go "WUM! BOOM!" on 2 tracks but the other is brilliantly chilled out... and is that a Pink Floyd sample in the mix?? Brendan Nelson Kinetic Illusion
