Me too, so in the past we've bought bare-bones drum machines that have good sounds. My favorite for this is the alesis sr-16. Works well with a sequencer (not much wizzy drum-machine programming to get in your way) and had pretty good sounds. For a mixer, the best value I've seen is Mackie... they make a great 12 and 16 channel line mixer. I got my 12 channel for less than $300. For sequencing we use maa mac with ster tracks pro. Sorry, Jon :-) Our synths are an ensoniq VFX and ESQ-1. They complement each other nicely, and the ESQ-1 is so much fun and easy to program that I'd recommend everyone grab one. IMHO, of course. They have the advantage of being cheap too. We haven't done anything in a while (priorities have changed, etc, etc) but I have a friend with an EPS and a wavestation who might move down soon, and that should be very interesting :-) -H-
