I think the reason I'm so quick to slag on FSOL is that I can't understand how they made the transition from the likes of "Pulse State" to "Lifeforms".. Where as the first seems to understand the fusion of the groove and timbre variations, the latter seems wholey lost in the world music, sweeping-filter-noises mindset that IMHO is killing techno.. Group after group has proved that the transition to the LP format does not necessarily count out the soul and energy that was derived from "E2E4" and Kraftwerk.. I'm just curious whether there was a point at which the two men sat down and decided that they were no long interested in their previous sound..? Please fill this conceptual gap.. Please.. Jamie Hodge
