I've had it since March, and my copy was bought originally (by DJCK) at some store that had stamped a tag on it with a date from around October /November of 93. BTW, I've recently "rediscovered" this record.. it has aged quite well. Check it out if you haven't already :) Many styles represented, but all seem to have been recorded and mixed in the main cargo hold of some monolithic construct in geo-synchronous orbit over Hope, Iowa or something. If you know what I mean. Cheers, Brad.

I think I do. My copy sounds odd for a CD. The levels are fairly low and the whole thing sounds rather muffled, apart from the odd hi-hat. Didn't they clean their tape heads before mastering this? I like it lots, but I'm a little cheesed with the quality. I hope (Iowa?) the Global Comms disc sounds cleaner. Well, my vinyl sounded great. It IS possible you had a bad press, but rare for that to be the case. I still want the CD. grimblwmunfgrg =B)

I happen to think this is a _good_ thing.

One of my favorite things about this CD is the alien, oppressive aura it's got, something I think is enhanced by the warm layer of fuzz over the top of it (in the same way that Sonic Youth's _Evol_ and _Sister_ are more affecting than their "cleaner" work). But that's just one bald guy's opinion... ----------------------------------------------------------------- dave walker, detroit art services _ marmoset@msen.com play sim freeke Dave Walker
