Thanks one and all for replying to my US-"idm" post. I *was* going to add to it "Please don't say Transmat, Metroplex, Planet E, Fragile, etc." but I didn't. As a result I got lots of mail naming the above. I guess what I meant by my original query referred more towards non-dancefloor oriented material. I don't mean so-called "ambient" either... It's hard to label something that is hard to classify in and of itself... I guess I would consider Black Dog, or ART, or B-12, etc. to be exciting music but still not your typical dancefloor fare...
