This comp is simply exquisite IDM. Good clean German ambi-trance from
one of the most dependable labels. All tracks are beautifully layered and
complex. There is a real subtlety and calmness to this comp.
Track One
Excellent trancey IDM. Minimal beat and synthoid vocals slowly
build and multiply, blossoming into a soaring beaut of a song. This and
track five alone make this CD worth the steep import price!
Track Two
Mello Spice. This reminds me of Black Doggy Dog Productions. No. 2
never builds to characteristic Liebian fury but it has enough change-ups and
layering to be interesting.
Track Three
Wind chimes and vacuum cleaner in space. Tiny (tinny?) cymbals sound
a little like O.O.B.E. off of u.f.Orb. A good thick track. A foot tapper.
Little farty sounds punctuate the end of the song.
Track Four
This track fades between SAW 2 and a cool beat. Don't play this if
you are depressed. The Vangelissy violinny sounds make me sad. One of
the few IDM tunes that truly evoke sadness.
Track Five
Best track! Eff'ing brilliant. Electro-birdies become distorted
jets.Throw on a quick high-hat, claps and a FAT acidic riff and this song GOES!
Track Six
Ultramarine meets Seefeel? Excellent chill with flutey sounds and
guitar.
This comp kicks my ass. Very nice. High I with just the right amount of
D. Unfortunately, the price is also high (US import in New York for $30. Ouch!
But this album is well worth it. 9 out of 10.
Write me if you have any comments or disagreements.
Peace.
