R&S Discography

This is version 1.0 of my attempt at a R&S discography. The approach I
have taken to tame such a beast is to store the information in a relational
database and enter/update information with a home grown GUI on my Sun
SparcStation (all provided thanks to my employer). This allows me great
flexibility if I need to reorder or reformat the entries (i.e. list all of the
R&S songs by order of bpm), add another field of information or selectively
retrieve certain tracks (i.e. list all of CJ Bolland's songs under his
different aliases that were released in 1993). This setup also has the
potential to store information for many different labels and print
discographies for each one separately, but so far I have limited my data to
releases on R&S and RSUK. I felt that Simon Walley (u9323899@sys.uea.ac.uk)
did a great job of creating an Apollo discography (if you've seen it then
you'll notice many similarities in style between his and mine), so I chose to
atleast initially omit Apollo releases from my data.
One ambitious feature of this discography is that I not only include
a time for each track, but I also list a bpm. Granted, none of us would come up
with exactly the same bpm for a given track, but I feel that providing this
information (with a grain of salt included) can only be of help to all of us
who try a hand at dj'ing in the bedroom or elsewhere. I am also looking for
any other information pertaining to R&S artists that would be easily listed
here. For example, a listing of aliases (i.e. Source, Robert Leiner) for each
artist, members of each group or addresses of pertinent R&S buildings. If
you're not sure if I want to include it then send it anyways because I probably
will.
