Where does the Aphex Twin come into this? I take it it has something to do with some US licensing deal....? While were on this tangent of record labels, can someone tell me what the label WEA is? What's it's relationship to Warner, and to Eye-Q (if any). It always puzzles me the way some Eye-Q releases (like Accident in Paradise) have the WEA name (and I think the Warner name) on them as well.... Cosmic

In the States, _SAWII_ was licensed to Sire, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Records.

WEA is the huge evergrowing....well, suffice it to say that WEA stands for Warner-Elektra-Atlantic, and represents Warner Bros' international companies. If anything, Eye-Q has some sort of licensing agreement with WEA to produce and distribute its music. WEA *is* Warner-Elektra-Atlantic, a subsidiary of Time-Warner. Any label, no matter how small or *indie*, that is tied to those three labels is also part of Time Warner, the largest entertainment conglomerate in the world. (I think) Because of Wax Trax/TVT's deal with Interscope, Wax Trax can also then be seen as part of this big picture. (I'm honestly not sure how Aphex Twin is related to WEA) gschmitz@luna.cas.usf.edu
