Yeah, I heard that Creation were dropping Infonet a while ago... one of the b blokes from Seefeel was on about it. Infonet was run by Chris Talbot, and he almost signed up the Carl Craig album and the Derrick May album for Infonet... woulda been quite a coup, no? But Creation didn`t give him enough money for this so he got pissed off. Last I heard he was going to try and keep Infonet going himself, independently of Creation, but someone else might know better (I haven`t read this week`s NM NME today...). Bandulu and Reload were the only acts signed I think, previously Infonet were releasing loads of one-off 12"s from the like of Eddie "Flashin`" Fowlkes and co . No doubt Ben`ll tell you this but Reload (ie Mark and Tom) have signed to Dedicated under the guise of Global Communication and their album`s due out very soon (I think)... also a compilation of the material they produced for their own label Evolution is in the works... So R&S got 'em instead; Chris will be gutted.

Nothing about it in this weeks NME, I don't think. Mind you, I've only just scanned it. The Aphex/Autechre/Ultramarine/Bark Psychosis/etc in Russia report looks pretty good tho'.

I heard about their 'remix' album of Chapterhouse (?) music that was so different from the original, they were allowed to release the lot under their own name of 'Global Communications'. __ Simon Walley | 1E 76 9A 0D 78 3A 3B 1C | /\ \ <u9323899@sys.uea.ac.uk> | A1 60 73 AE 8B 0E E0 B6 | /--\_\

Looks like you still can. I don't know why, but I was able to get a prerelease of the new Bandulu album "Antimatters" along with a new single "Presence" this weekend. I'm guessing that Infonet didn't go down the tubes after all. Oh yeah, Creation is still mentioned on the single, so they didn't leave to another label either.

I just heard "presence" this weekend, and it is an incredible track. I plan to hunt this one down asap. -Sho -- sho@physics.purdue.edu <<-- finger this account to find out what I'm having for lunch! Sho Kuwamoto.

Infonet have now agreed a deal with Creation to split from them, rather than simply being axed as Creation originally proposed. The Bandalu album and single are the final Infonet releases to be put out through Creation. I presume future releases will go through the usual independent channels.
