Just checking to see if anyone else was at the Vladislav Delay/Hrvatski/Electronicat/Phthalo event at Podewil in Berlin. Hrvatski's performance was just absolutely amazing. The visuals, the snare rushes, everything worked together to create an assault on the senses. I was surprised because the live stuff was even better than the material on Oiseaux '96-'98 which is saying a lot because that album is great! I hope that the ideas he presented live: the Cylob-esque computer voice singing at over 200 BPM, the downtempo pieces, and the very melodic excursions show up on future releases. I agree with other posts in the past- there is no need to complain about Squarepusher's abandonment of the Big Loada/Hard Normal Daddy style. Hrvatski definitely represents the fresh face and the future of this style...whatever you choose to call it- abstract breakbeat, etc. etc. John __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I believe I'll be seeing Kid606 play tonight here in San Diego, CA - I'm not sure what this Remix sounds like - but I'll let you know if I find anything out. I've never seen Kid606 perform before - so I'm excited to see what he is all about. i'll also drop him some CDRs of my tracks :) I hear he likes remixing.
