for the last time..THE DOMESTIC IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE IMPORT!!(with the exception of the metallic gold ink which makes the type too hard to read if you ask me). I'm really sorry if you guys have bought comps in the past with tracks missing on the domestic but that's not the way WAX tRAX does business.to my knowledge we (WAX TRAX) have never released a comp or LP without all the tracks from the import.I'm kinda pissed off that just cause other domestic labels have cut tracks that you would assume that we would.REMEMBER..i'm just as into this stuff as you are. PLEASE RELAX . I'LL TAKE CARE OF IT. the wax trax IDM relationship is in good hands.really. thank you for your kind and generous support. peace e the wax trax idm guy sorry about the attitude but all this doubt and second guessing kinda gets on my nerves.Seriously, did wax trax put out a record that was incorrect?did we f*ck something up?Feedback requested..

Not to my knowledge... But I think in general this happens on other labels. Good references in which the domestic and the import albums are different include the Orb's first album (but this was fixed), the first System 7 album, the domestic Speedy J album on Radikal, Aphex's Selected Ambient Works II, Yellow Magic Orchestra's High Tech / No Crime, and the Universe comp on Moonshine. I'm sure there are others too, so I guess when someone hears that something great is coming out domestic, the first inclination is to ask how it compares to the import. And given Warp's various formats on the AI2, with the vinyl, cd, limited cd and limited vinyl, there is a lot of room for interpretation. This happens all the time on the Orb mailing list: "Hey, can someone compare the tracks on the UK issue to the US issue...?" However, Wax Trax /TVT has been solid in their releases of Warp stuff. But some copies of the first Artificial Intelligence have the last two tracks switched. But all the music is there... Andrew -- (c) 1994, Andrew Bennett abennett@phoenix.aps.muohio.edu

What label was the original Speedy J release on, then? I thought the Plus 8 was the original... surely Plus 8 make US releases of their material....? Cosmic

Well, I've never seen the Radikal version, but heard that it contains some older Speedy J tracks and leaves off some on the Warp and +8 pressings of _Ginger_ +8 is in Canada, and their US distribution is a bit weak. I don't think they get solidly distributed in the States. The Plastikman _Sheet One_ and _Recycled Plastic_ ep were both on NovaMute in the states. I belive NovaMute signed a deal with +8 to distribute some of their stuff in the United States. However, it's not hard to find +8 stuff in Detroit. Imagine that... :) Andrew -- (c) 1994, Andrew Bennett abennett@phoenix.aps.muohio.edu

Ironically, +8 stuff can be difficult at times to find in Toronto as well -- Novamute released stuff is no problem, but +8/Intellinet stuff is another story. I've been told that Cargo doesn't deal with +8, which may have something to do with it. And oddly, the CD Bar in Toronto gets their +8 stuff from the UK. I've been hunting for the Intellinet compilation on CD for a while but with no luck -- and if that isn't bad enough, I couldn't even find a copy at Record Time yesterday... Rob

I've been told that there were only 1000 of those pressed. :-( I finally got to hear it last weekend (thanks Andrew!) and all I can say is that I wish I'd picked it up the one (and only) time I saw it... ----------------------------------------------------------------- dave walker, detroit art services _ marmoset@msen.com play sim freeke

The Dutch version was released on Speedy J's own label Beam Me Up! (which is a pretty good label too btw). The sleeve of this release is different from the Warp version. The other original releases were on Plus 8 (USA) and Warp (rest of the world). (probably). -- +-----------------------------------+ | Hans Veneman | | E-mail: veneman@tv99ad.hacktic.nl | | phone: +31(0)3200-35266 | +-----------------------------------+

it wasn't that i was doubting that all the tracks would be on there...since the import comes in all these limited editions, with different tracks on each...i wasn wondering if the domestic would include all the tracks offered on the imports...no dis to wax trax. :) mike :::mikebee@freenet.fsu.edu::: --everybody's kung fu fighting-- ///////Kicks more flava than Mister Rogers' got neighbors////////

Perhaps the original poster wanted to know if the WT! version would have the 'extra' tracks that are on the 'limited edition' Warp CD.
