Well, I'd say if they're still making trashy techno (rave sirens wailing, whistles blowing, pounding 140bpm chez pseudo breakbeat madness) then it deserves to be nuked. I haven't heard it though, but most techno musicians have progressed light years away from the first rave-techno that hit the streets.

Actually, WIRED featured the latest Messiah album (_21st Century Jesus_?) as its microwavable disc o' the month. Anyone out there heard it and can comment to the validity of their burning? ;-) Personally, "Temple of Dreams" is one of the more fun "techno-house" tunes I've ever heard, with the exception of some early TKK. Well, you just described their last single perfectly :) A true frisbee of a record, which they insist on playing on the local CommercialAlternative (sic) station... Anyway, the ninny in Rolling Stone essentially dismissed techno as heartless and brainless, while implying that Messiah were better than average because they used vocals & samples(!) and giving it two stars. | Dave Walker, Detroit Art Services (DAS) -- marmoset@msen.com | | | | Without chemicals, life itself would be impossible. |

this brings something to mind i read just the other day in the May 94 _Select_ (yas, yas the one with the Aphex track on bonus cassette) an interview with Henry Rollins in the "think tank" section "Have you ever been to a rave? (interviewer asks)" Rollins: "(showing sound grasp of 2 Unlimited) `Dang-dang-dang-didi-dang-dang- dang! Go! Go! Go! Go!' Let's just wrap it up and say, This is the shittiest music ever invented, and the people who do it are talentless idiots who're highly overpaid. Look. I say, Go on, little techno boy, I will not pull the plug on you. I will stand up for your right to do it, first in line. But your music's the worst!" uh, thanx for not knowing a damn thing, Henry.
