The Black Dog track on Artificial Intelligence II (Balil: Parasight) is very different from the stuff on their Bytes album. Have they done any other stuff like this....? Also, what's their second album like, and is it still available...? Cheers, Cosmic

If you haven't heard the Parasight ep, try it. Exquisite, especially Rosery Pilots. I find this ep so much richer and more intricate than Bytes. But I too want more! Much more... Balil's track 'Nort Route' is one of my alltime favourites. It's nothing like Parasight though :)

I really enjoyed the second album 'Temple Of Transparant Balls'. I think it's very innovative. Some crazy rhythms here.

This is funny really, as the 'Parasight' EP was put together in just one weekend by Ed of Black Dog (Ed=Balil) because he needed the money or something. The new album will be released on 25 july. I'm really looking forward to it! Try the eponomously named Black Dog Productions EP on Rising High, top jazzy funky stuff, with an acidy number too. I thought the second 'Transparent Balls' LP was disappointing, it was almost an caricature of their own style, the rythyms were just too disjointed and the melodies just too, well sugarey. However there are several good tracks on it and my copy was worth it just for the free poster! greg 3 0 3

I've been told this too...that they're different. For the better, I hope?? (BYTES) didn't seem to go anywhere...same sounds...boring arrangement... I can't wait for my AI2 !!! (have I said this enough?)

Well, I got it! And I *really* like it. I have to give it a few listens before I make reviews (I do need to follow-up on that..whenever I say I'll do a review..but I'm a procrastinator!) Balil's "Parasight" is about the only one good "normal" dance track (as opposed to "intelligent?"...I dunno...) The others sound very sweet. Anyway, Now I'm waiting for TEX2 !! Any reviews, compare/contrasts for AI2 and TEX2? (15 points) And how good/bad is Chill Out Phase 2? (20 points) (You have 2 hours to complete the test) :) -kc
