I just bought a few things yesterday. What I'm wondering is, how new is
the Basscadet EP by Autechre? I picked it up because the guy in the store
was playing it LOUD and it sounded excellent. Not much good unless it's
blaring, though. Also, was Colourform (HIA) released anywhere in North
America? $30 is a bit steep, IMHO, but I want to get it. Oh yes, one last
question. the Quoth CD5 was released maybe only a year ago, but how old is
the material. I've noticed that RDJ's new stuff, (newer) namely On, and
SAW II, has semidecent sound quality. But _Iketa_ on the Quoth CD5 is
really mangled. You can tell it was on A) a tape that was chewed up in
someone's car, and B) a *BAD* tape. Good track, though.
And I finally heard something from CJ Bolland that is worthy of praise:
his remix of _No Good (Star the Dance)_ by the Prodigy. Speaking of whom,
when is his album coming (probably not relevant to IDM, but...)
I still can't find Lifeforms. Anyone in Eastern Canada who has seen it? I
tried to buy it at Bunker in Montreal but they had already been sold out,
and the Astralwerks release isn't for a bit.
