I know Mod Lang (US) said they would get this in as an import this weekend. However they said they were getting *two* new Beaumant Hannant cd's in. Not sure what to make of this. Plus they said they are getting a new mu-ziq album in as well. t -

I saw the B12 recently at Boston Beat, but didn't want to wait in line with a dozen people to listen to it. Looking forward to hearing this "Porpoise" track off AI2. I'm off to work in Tokyo starting next Tuesday - since the shops there are quick with new releases, I hope to get it right away. I'll be there all summer so if anything cool comes up I'll try to post about it. (saw the Orb two nights in a row last summer; I hear Underworld and Drum Club plan to tour there this summer.) James.

Hi everyone, I just listened to the domestic release of Eye Q's compilation : Behind the Eye. And I must say it's one shit record. Apart from one track the rest of the tracks are mediocre at best; no wonder the import version was so lacking in stores. On the other hand the Free Zone ambinet compilation from Belguim's SSR records is really good. Tracks are from a variety of sources: Ken Ishii, Bleep, Pete Namlook, etc. Question: does anyone know where the Karl Biscuit track "Hierophone" comes from, and are there any other mixes? Other recommendations: Wagon Christ on Rising High, good analog sounding ambient stuff, and also on Rising High the new one from London School of Electronics, both very good. One side note I got the ablum from the Czech band "Ecstasy of St Theresa" and its kind of ambient similar to SeeFeel but more calmer and the same etheral voices, not bad. Mohsen

Well, IMHO the this comp has some good melodic trance on it. Favourites are Energy 52 (cafe del mar), Brainchild (symphonica) and Mirage (Airborn). -cosmic

Just got a few CDs which I think are worth mentioning. First one is the ~45 minute remix cd of a couple of Golden Palaminos tracks. I am not familiar with the band but the remixes are from Bill Laswell, Terre T., and Bandulu. All the remixes are very good, Laswell's bassy input, Terre's mix of ambient and percussive sounds, and the great sound of Bandulu. Very good. Next one is 4Hero's "Ambient Jungle" release, title of which I forget now. I finally got a hold of this after looking for it everywhere. This music is very different, as in it's like house music with cool jungle beats with wonderfull synth (sort of ambient in nature) sounds all over the place. It really reminded me of IDM as a music genre!! Finally, got the new Seefeel cd and I must say it's my favorite of their's and mine for the past few months. Purely excellent. Mohsen
