I though I had posted this already, but apparently not. Thanks to David Seubert for filling the gaps of V1.0. His collection must be even more impressive than mine :) Does anyone have MS10 the Octave One - I Believe release? This is currently out of print. greg

Yes.. That's a real smoker.. It got a Juan Atkins mix and a Vice mix + the original.. This is one of my favorites.. prophetic female vocals (and moans on Juan's mix), very anthemic chord pattern on B-sides, whereas Juan's is a really deep piano cut.. I don't think that there'd be any legal problems with any of these artists.. they're all Detroit locals.. ** ******** ********** ********** ******** **Born.Under.A.Rhyming.Planet. +8 Records, Chicago, Il.

Yes, they are all Detroit locals, but what I heard (when i tried to order Octave One) was that Octave One (Burden and Shakir) had had a falling out with Mr. May, had started their own record label (I don't remember which one) and would not allow it to be repressed. If you have to have it, it is available on the "Techno II" compilation which has been reissued on Ten records. Also, all of the other in print Transmat stuff can be ordered from Record Time dist. in Detroit. E-mail me and I can dig up the info -David David_Seubert@bmug.org DSeubert@aol.com

Talking of this compilation, there's this track 'Stark' by KGB on it too. It's made by Timothy Brown. Does anybody know what else he has done? I can't find anything else he made. Perhaps he made some stuff under another name? I've never seen anything else by him either. Strangely, KGB is not enev listed in the (admittedly incomplete) KMS discography in the RetroTechno liner notes. Nice track, though it doesn't sound very Detroit-y to me. -David David_Seubert@bmug.org DSeubert@aol.com
