I'm a recent subscr*ber to IDM , and I've found the information on here overwhelming. I am saving my IDM mail in order to comb throught it later for idm recommendations. Keep the flow of opinions/information coming! ----------- RE: What is Intelligent Dance Music / What Should the IDM List Be After reading the IDM intro message again , and reading the recent reactions to Jamie Hodge's post , I have a question. Is there any interest among the IDM readers as to the DANCEability of the music being reviewed? It was the pairing of "Intelligent" and "Dance" in the mailist's title that got me intrigued enough to subscr*be. But the emphasis seems to be on the "Intelligent" , and the "Dance" seems to be taken for granted. It it straight (boring) 4/4 , or is there some synchopation or "tribal" rhythm being used ? Will me feet fall asleep while my head is doing all the dancing? Is it just ambient with a beat/box? ( "uh ... I give it a 9 - it's gotta good beat , u c'n dance to it ..." ) Larry Ching/larryc@netcom.com
