This morning, I was over at a friend's house: one of her roomates had "In the Realm of the Crimson King" by a group called King Crimson. There was a song that came on as the CD was playing and I immediately recognized the flute from Opus III's "I talk to the wind." So, I checked the CD case and behold it is the same song of the same title as the opus III song. Except this version was more of a white-funk-70s-on-the-Steely-Dan-tip version of the song. I was struck dumb. Heh heh, bloody heh. Just thought someone out there would like to know. No, I don't listen to King Crimson on a regular basis. Lost transmission from (lost) Athens. Stewart

You, of course, mean Opus III's *cover* of *King Crimson's* "I Talk to the Wind."

Must be a version that I've never heard.

Yeah, I wore out a copy of that album (_In the Court of the Crimson King_) back in the '70's. Great cover art. Gatefold cover - useful for rolling up hand- made herb cigarettes :-) Ethereal Mellotron, flutes, etc. Check out Bruford's drumming - Wow! I love the vocal style, too. Great song, that one. Oh yeah, and Fripp is pretty good too :-)

Maybe you *should* listen to more of it -- just for historical perspective, if for no other reason. They were way out there. "Information wants to be free! (Or for a small charge, which will be conveniently added to your monthly phone bill.)" -B. Sanders
