Chris: I can see what you mean about "A Moment In Time", but I`m sure UR`s
flirtation with jazz will soon develop past this. Gotta admit, it is a bit
conventional. You want Pharoah Saunders playing over a freaked-out acid line
and reverb-laden space-strings, not Kenny G over a pretty lame-sounding keyboard
But it`s still OK>
The Orb`s track really gets on my nerves at the start, too synthetic for me...
but it picks up towards the end. Not as good as they`re old stuff I`m sure...
Also the Quadrant track is good I think, and As One as well. The Irdial track
is as wierd as one might expect (I like the sample at the end) and Sandoz fails
once again to make me rush out and buy all his 12"s and albums, it doesn`t hit
the spot, basically. The only other Sandoz track I`ve heard was on the Narcosis
comp and I didnae like that either...
As One`s album is really wicked! Has anyone else got this? And I also recommend
once more "The Deepest Shade Of Techno" compilation which is a must for fans
of pure and intelligent techno.
