3 cds i bought today in this indie shop here which seems to have its
moments in techno:
air liquide [blue 006]
air liquide: nephology [blue 013]
the speed freak: return to speed city [mono tone 018]
first of all, why the poing did none of you tell me that air liquide are
jammin' unit and walker of big force inc. fame?????
second: later this week, expect reviews of the above. the speed freak cd is
something that i've been looking for in any format, but preferably vinyl
(no chance), for half a year now...

car & driver = nosebleed hardcore. i'm glad you like this... but well
there's better stuff for you to be found then, both on fim as by car &
driver, imo... i like their second e.p. (clubcraft) better, it's less
repetitive and more funny, and the remix of "disco award" is also better
than the original... their best, though, and that's what introduced me to
them, was their remix of "help germany" on force inc. uk #2, which adds
double-speed bass drum sequences and samples from steve reich's "it's gonna
rain" and is wise enough to keep that spinning acid line that occasionally
drifts into pitched noise...

jammin' unit is, as much as i know, one male person. the release you're
looking for might be on blue, or mono tone (they're coloured vinyl fans -
never seen a mono tone release in black), or dj'ungle fever, or
structure... the jammin' unit selection on the rauschen 6 comp.
"temptation" is presumably from "140", which is, i believe, not released
yet. "temptation" put me quite off with a sample from some sadistic horror
movie. not my cup of tea.
the walker release (schrei nach liebe; fim 059) is very beautiful, though.
pure, faultless, grooving acid. adheres to the latest trend to put stresses
(hi-hat) on 3 and 4 again instead of 93's 1 and 2.
