What have we learned from this? Probably just the fact that I'm not the only neurotic fan on this list. Richard James definitely deserves respect. He has created and preserved a (possibly) unduplicable style of music. May he continue to flourish among the best.

I can't understand why people like Polygon Window so much.. Sure, there were some interesting tracs on that release, but all in all, I think I'd call it one of his weakest.. As an alternative, I'd name releases like the TR-606 ep and the blue indicator, along with SAW I and II, plus the version of isoprophlex on ABB 1, AND the dub trac on Caustic windows #3.. Of course ABB 2 is a classic.. blah, blah.. my point is that I think PW is a wash up release for him IMHO. ** ******** ********** ********** ******** **Born.Under.A.Rhyming.Planet. +8 Records, Chicago, Il.

Wait, #1 Song, or full-length? Anyway... My favorites are the first track on AB3, and "Audax Powder." -djkc

These weren't actually done by Richard James, hence their exclusion from the discography. _______ (__,-, \ / /\ \ f l u i d <finger me for PGP key> /,_) \ \ flu'id (floo'-) (/ \\ brit@chopin.udel.edu :65 FD F9 9F F2 23 F8 CF: \) fluid@freezer.cns.udel.edu :80 9C 11 AA 9F 92 0D 27:

Polygon Window failed to hold my attention, and in addition it's the weakest link thus far in the Artifical Intelligence series. Another point to ponder: Why was the CD only 48 some odd minutes long, while the other AI releases clock in over 60+ minutes? Yes, I know there are two additional tracks on the "Quoth" CD5, but if he's got so much material in storage, why coudln't any of be released on PW? 8080808080808080808080808080808080808080808080808080808080808 0 Paul Rafanello Internet: 808STATE@DELPHI.COM 0 8080808080808080808080808080808080808080808080808080808080808

Could we have some detailed/constructive criticism of Polygon Window please? :) I'm just at a complete loss to see what you don't like about it. It's not really any different from any of his other works. Just saying "I don't like it." isn't going to convert anyone. It's just like me saying "I think FSOL are a complete bag of wank and that Cascade is the worst record I have ever bought". I happen to fervently believe this (despite the fact I like _PNG_), but expressing the opinion doesn't help anyone. end of sermon :) greg (now writing to Uni helpline about setting up mail filters!! :) 3 0 3

Yes! I'm surprised trak 1 of ab3 didn't get more votes, cuz when that synth comes in and starts the song off I just get goosepimples. Audax Powder also is one of my fav's on that album, and I'm surprised that Quoth got as many votes as it did. Quoth starts out GREAT, but goes nowhere. If only RDJ had developed it more instead of 5:30 of repetitive samey percussion....by the way Iketa and Bike Pump Meets Bucket are the best songs on the Quoth single, IMNSHO. If anyone finds out more on the rumoured R&S release of Aphex Twin Classics, pleeeeze let me know. I've never heard Didgeridoo, and would love to know if it lives up to the praise that idm'ers give it. Actually, I supposedly heard it at the NASA tour in SF, but didn't know it. -boB

My informations says that he may have had a part in the Red, along with someone else called Martin. The Blue however was credited to Mike Dredd, aka the Kosmik Kommando. Grant from Rephlex looked over both discographies and made no changes. Fine, actually I think Quoth is a bit boring myself :) But it's a great stomper!! greg 3 0 3
