Yeah, the latest issue of Emigre is a Designers Republic extravaganza, with an extended interview with founder Ian Anderson. I HIGHLY recommend this publication to you all, because this is not just a magazine. It's as much a trip for your brain as any IDM is. The magazine is over-sized (to say the least), and printed on a rather heavier stock than newstand publications. There are no ads, except for maybe in-house ads for fonts or the Emigre record label. And the thing borders on illegible, which is the point. Emigre is the creature that spawned (IMHO) Dave Carson and Ray Gun, et al. It's the original bad- boy design rag, produced not just 'about Macs' or 'for Macs'... Rather, Emigre is produced digitally from start to finish. The point being, that they push the bounds of design so far you almost need an interpreter to comprehend it all. Which is good. Which brings us to the topic at hand: Designers Republic Emigre 29 call (916)451-4344 or (800)944-9021 fax (916)451-4351 or snail it to Emigre 4475 "D" Street Sacramento, CA 95819 price is $7.95 per issue + $0.64 tax -------- Brad.

Wait. Huh? Ian Anderson? The guy with the flute from Jethro Tull? What a co-inky-dink. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael King mike%delta1@rex.cs.tulane.edu Delta Systems New Orleans, LA 70002 Voice: 504.837.9835 Fax: 504.837.9838 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Never under estimate the bandwidth of a station wagon loaded with mag tapes. -Karl Kleinpaste, postmaster Ohio State University ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
