Wow. Look at this: Various - Ethnotechno (Sonic Anthropology Volume 1) [US Wax Trax/TVT 7211-2] 1. Intro - scan of radio transmissions 2. Juno Reactor - Alash (Where I Graze My Beautiful Sheep) [Watkins] 3. Sabres of Paradise - R.S.D. [Weatherall/Jagz/Burns] 4. Ramirez - El Ritmo Barbaro [Persi/Rizzatti/Testoni/Moratto] 5. UTU - N428 [Ishii] 6. Sandoz - Limbo [Kirk] 7. Stell Porn Rhino - AKA Electric [LePard/Shroeder] 8. Mere Mortals - Ethnologik [Dreamdocktor H. Shea] 9. Moody Boyz - 90 Days [T. Thorpe] 10. Total Eclipse - Tenskwa Tawa [Souque/Holweck/Vanpouck] 11. Jonah - Algeirs [Coxon] 12. High Lonesome Sound System - Waiting for the Lights (Mandalany mix) [Chasteen/Kandel] *sound of feet as people run for their music stores* Very nice idm-ish comp, and domestic on Wax Trax. And seeing some of this stuff domestic is nice. Like Ishii. :) I'd have to say the standout tracks are the Moody Boyz, Total Eclipse, and the High Lonesome Sound System. The only drawback is that some of this stuff is out already. Like the Sabres of Paradise, Sandoz, and probably the High Lonesome Sound System. More may be out too, but that's what I know now. :) So, finding all of this in one place, at a domestic price, with an excellent choice of cuts makes this a high recommendation from me. BTW, is there any interest in me starting my reviews once again? I used to do reviews eons ago. Titled "AJB Reviews #x", I think a couple can be found on the techno.stanford.edu site, or maybe in gopherspace somewhere. If so, please email me privately and I'll think about doing them again...
