Thats pretty much what I thought when I first got this ( when it came out last year ) ... but now, I have finally taken the time to sit down and listen to it properly, I would seriously recommend it as being an absolutley top piece of IDMery. I particularly like the 1st side ( teq / peschi / ahn ). As far as aphex style industrial clattering goes, teq is very powerful. Check out the space invader noises. Peschi and Ahn are both beautiful melodic semi - floaters. I would go as far as saying that none of you should regret buying this ( especially if you're in the USA where CDs are cheaper than popcorn ). I thought having the 'libretto' was a marvellous idea, but as Jon, I must say I thought the stories were a pretentious pile of toss too. Pity someone doesnt use the idea again with some decent text, or write some music to accompany some passage by a half-good author.

There are some related tunes which I like:

The original came from the 'Victim 34' ep on german Interfich records, which I thought was rather good ( although quite hard. ) this track was my least fave of the ep.

The spirit feel ep on this label from which this tune came is excellent. One of the tracks on the other side is a top quality slow dubby trancer, the kind of thing that sp. feel seem to excel at. Chris Giles.

it's definitely *worthwhile* on some level, even if a purely intellectual one. sort of like "i can appreciate the technical skill with which this was put together but it doesn't really Move My Soul." and it's not all that cheap, either, actually. it would be great if someone would license Infonet products because i would like to have the chance to get them for less than the outrageous prices they ask now. eg: Bandulu "Phaze Inversion" was OK but i'd rather have paid $5 instead of $10... (wouldn't we all...)

heh heh, maybe i'll give it a shot for my next project. after all, i did major in literature at university and i am a professional writer now... theoretically, anyway.

yeah, there is another Exist Dance remix of this which is very slow and has weird ethnic chanting sampled into it... i like that a lot. this mix just didn't do much for me. btw, i stated that the version of "Celestial Symphony" by Scubadevils on Novamute 1.1 is basically the same as the one on Trance Europe Express. This is absolutely wrong. They are actually very different mixes. The one on Novamute 1.1 is *really great* with this wonderful tweaky acid line used to enhance the melody. Very catchy and worthwhile. (The one on TEE is just so-so in comparison.)
