Hello again...
I only go away for five days and idm hits some sort of crisis! Personally
I can`t see anything wrong with it but perhaps I`m missing something.
mu-ziq`s second album has been recommended by Mixmaster morris as the best
of the year ahead, he reckons it`s shit hot and says that it`s the sort of
album that makes him think of quitting music altogether.
Talking of albums, my one is imminent! I can`t wait, I should have
recorded it within a fortnight!
Haven`t bought much recently because I`m in heavy debt but I can say that
Galaxy 2 Galaxy has made me wonder that perhaps Mad Mike is _the_ electronic
producer, forget AFX and co. It`s just so versatile, emotional and
energetic, and unique and original, with it`s heart in the right place (one
track is dedicated to Chris Hani). We need that sort of thing in idm, not
necessarily lyrics but some sort of message, some sort of consciousness.
Someone said that there was stuff better than Galaxy 2 Galaxy, well tell me
what! I`ll be looking for that "4 Jazz Funk Classics" on Planet E later in
the week... and also for that "Interstellar Space" album, I`ll have to visit
Mr Ray`s Jazz Shop in Covent Garden I think...
Bye!
