First, I`m sorry but I was wrong, Ralph did work on Barbarella. I still
don`t like the original though.
I disagree with whoever said they didn`t like the Sven Vath album; I
thinkit was really good for the musical content, and also the `chill
factor`, that it was interesting and laid-back at the same time.
Second, that Aphex debate: I agree with the view that people seriously
overestimate his work. There are some really good tracks he`s done
(Ageispolis, i, Supremacy II, Quixote, [0,7], that last one on Joyrex 5) but
then again there are some duff ones, like TR-606 and some Joyrex tracks, and
with the Saint Etienne remixes he wasted a chance to reach the indie masses
with the sound of intelligent techno (if you haven`t heard them, let me
explain: they`re pretty dull).
Well... yesterday I got Silk, the Recycle or Die compilation, the Pete
Namlook Definitive Ambient Collection 2 and a Fax compilation on Reflective
from the US... haven`t had a chance to listen to them yet (apart from when I
was cuing records at Megatripolis last night...)
Bye!
