I don't think I've ever seen this before anywhere...so I thougt I'd tell ya... I was watching parts of Predator today during the US/France hockey game (DOH!)....and I saw the parts where the Predator is "stalking" his victims....it's in the beginning....and he's more watching them, and hasn't started killing them yet... In theses scenes, the video is all weird (it's supposed to be what the predator see)....and these weird samples get played back but at different speeds and kinda screwed up in general... Well, this got me to thinking, that these snippets would be great to sample and put into a song...then all of a sudden I hear things like...."over here" and "turn around" and this mad laughter....and I thought to myself... "HEY! AA SAMPLES!!!"....i don't know the exact song...but from those samples i just gave you....you should be able to figure it out... I thought this was petty interesting...and if anyone is maintaining some sort of sample listings for AA or just in general....there's another one! -John

Yup! indeed they are! It's the first track on the album, Liquid Insects, but when you know what they are, they can be a little annoying i think. But never mind, it's a cool album anyways! :) james

their synth pop stuff is largely weak but their instrumental stuff is *great*. check out the album "Trance" or their collaborative LP "CTI Core".

a pointless one. obviously people like RSW... they definitely have had some godlike moments in their day. "The Phantom"/"Ozone Breakdown" is a seminal techno 12" and their "In Dub" album has some amazing techno-dub moments. i even like bits of "soundclash" although i realize that's a minority opinion. Not all of their synth pop stuff is that bad, either, and there's some really good stuff occasionally. I think the biggest reason people get disappointed with Chris and Cosey is that the first time they hear it they are expecting Throbbing Gristle or Psychic TV, which it certainly isn't. (Same thing happened to me the first time I heard Psychic TV. But I wasn't disappointed :-) -H- -- ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Howard Berkey howard@netcom.com Lasciate ogne speranza, B'harne ch`intrate

uhhh... these guys pioneered alot of the stuff you're hearing in techno today. RSW is absolutely great. they were one of the first groups that turned me on to dance music, and i was a dance music *hater*. I've only got one Chris and Cosey album. It's not as good as RSW's stuff, but it's a very different style, and not bad. alot of what they were doing then was way ahead. - Dan |=|=|=|=\=|=\=|=\=|=\=|=\=|=/=|=/=|=/=|=/=|=|=|=|-------------------------- The 8-BIt Collective - Transmission 23 - edrone dan nicholson, Clonor the Other - Finnish Techno Zyndicate 8bit@vlad.bowker.com -=>ICBM volume one available soon!<=- moddan@vlad.bowker.com "This message has been sent out - did you originate it?"
