The one thing I lament is that i really do like to watch videos for songs. I think that there is a lot of unexplored area in the realm of making interesting visuals for techno/dance music. Some of the computer generated videos (X-Mix, the Mind's Eye) are neat, but almost none of them really base the images on the music, they take pre made computer graphics and match them to the music. The orb video (patterns & textures) is still the best dance oriented video I have ever seen, and even it does not go terribly far to match the images to the music (though in a few places it is uncanny). Of course, I'd be happy for bands to release their own tapes. Mtv doesn't have to be a part of the scene at all...by the way, does anybody have access to more videos by the orb (the blue room), the aphex twin, or any other idm bands..? [fletcher]

I dubbed a blue room video offa Mtv a year or so ago patterns & textures video is *beautiful*-although the spacesuit guys get to me. I like the green in perpetual dawn & the mirrored-melting red earth(toooo many faces!) someone was talking about dark ambient----try steve roach-->'Austrailia-sound of the earth' for wind, waves, haunting digeriidoos, and a cello i think?-'Dreamtime Return'(2cd) for those o.o.b.e.'s you hear so much about. Minimalist but, that's the point. Lotsa reviews in the ambient gopher under 'Hearts Of Space'---talk about ambient secret weopons try 'austraila....' w/'feed your head' ___________________________________q___________r______i___s_________/ qris blohm(kblohm@cln.etc.bc.ca) {<\\=^} *************************************{{ojo}}*************** Kathleen Blohm ( O ) kblohm@cln.etc.bc.ca ..___<\=/>___..
