the thing that pisses me off the most..
i was with some friends.. and one of them popped a tape in that they
had made.. DJ'ed...
the tape started in the middle of a ong.. and about 10 seconds
later.. someone said.. "oh wow! this i great, bill.. you're really
good"..
being a musician.. i find we get much less credit for our own music
than the DJ ds who spins it.

Being a DJ, I agree that a lot of times we probably get more credit
than the people that make the music, simply because we are the people
in the public's eye while the music is playing. Also being a
musician, though, I use a sampling keyboard (Ensoniq ASR-10) while
DJing and do a lot of "live remixing", as well as mixing in a song of
my own once in a while, so I do change the music quite a bit from the
original. Even still, when I make a mix tape, I never claim credit
for all of the music on it. I make sure to tell people that I simply
mixed the music together; I don't think people would believe me if I
said that I made this 100 minute tape of my own music, where the beat
flows throughout the music, and the style changes 10 or 12 times...
That's more of a feat along the lines of Orbital or musicians with a
lot more skill than I have...
