Here are my ambient secret weapons: i) Robert Scroder - Deep Dream (Rocket). This is a very scary track from the early 80s with immensely eerie strings, a quiet sitar and wierd animal noises. Minimal but engaging. ii) Guitar magazine - How to tune your guitar (Flexidisc). So strange! I use it because it features pure musical tones over which some bloke tunes his guitar, which gives that phasing effect. Mix it over Origin of Supernatural Probabilities by Tangerine Dream. iii) My Casio CZ-101 keyboard. Breaking down the barriers between DJ and musician etcetera. Confuses some people though. iv) X-Clan - Cosmic Ark. A cosmic hip-hop track which has a wicked african trumpet and a top-notch chord progression. There`s more, but they`re secrets... Brendan Nelson PS Apparently Mixmaster Morris is going to be on the Internet soon as well. Lost will be fun on Saturday: Jeff Mills, Kenny Larkin, Morris, Robert Leiner and more. Officially the location is secret but I think it`ll be at Bagley`s warehouse... Lost transmission from Cowley

I believe it's at the Vox in Brixton again. Leiner is also performing live rather than just DJing. -- Stephen Hebditch TQM Communications steveh@orbital.demon.co.uk

Absolutely AGES ago there was a discussion on what ambient DJs used as "secret weapons". I sent a mail in but I`m not at all sure it went through. Anyway, here they are: Robert Schroder: Deep Dream (Rocket) Casio CZ-101 keyboard (keep techno live) flexidisc on tuning guitars (features beeps with guitars phasing in and out of tune with them) Tape of me interviewing Reload A record I borrowed off Ben but I can`t really say what it is... There you go! San Francisco is obviously way behind Uxbridge because here at Brunel we`ve had a techno radio show since September. I present it and it`s called Transmat which is an unoriginal name, I know, but I don`t think Derrick May would mind... Bye! Brendan Nelson Lost Transmission From Uxbridge
