I just got my grubby little mitts on a promo copy of the new Exist Dance release. Here's what it looks like... Exist Dance - ED-012 Cantamilla Mya Yadana (Kin Kin) Cantamilla (Broadcast Standard) They Came in Peace (Sea of Tranquility) YOW! Great stuff! I still like the original Cantamilla better than the remix but the Mya Yadana mix is hot! *sigh* now as for one Smith And Mighty record that I have been wanting... This has probably been discussed on here before, but what kind of music do Renegade Soundwave (have I got the name right?) produce....? Any particular releases to look for....? I ask because I recently saw a copy of "Women Respond to Bass"..... Cosmic

Renegade Soundwave to me is indescribable...how forward they were in their thinking...there are some excellent club mixes out but you might want to start with their full length called In Dub. They have just released a new single (two weeks ago) called Renegade Soundwave that is pretty funky but it is slow (around 110 BPM). They've done remixes of Gary Numan (help me locate this!) and Inspiral Carpets to name a few... I just saw Women Respond to Bass but I passed it up - it was $12 and all there really was was a RSW megamix which I could reproduce to my own liking since I've got most to the singles on there. :) Tamara Palmer Women Respond To Bass ............................................................................... trance@netcom.com (the address of choice) izzyzi5@mvs.oac.ucla.edu izzypk3@mvs.oac.ucla.edu (yes, i is a college student) urbmag@netcom.com (open for your comments about URB Magazine!) ...............................................................................

My two favorite Renegade Soundwave tracks are -- "The Phantom": released around 1989 or so, a 122 bpm tribal track with an odd chant running through it "Thunder II": released around 1991 or so, a 120 bpm house track with a pretty string melody Both of these singles were released on Mute.

renegade soundwave are the godfathers of dub/techno... slow crushing drum grooves with nice basslines and (occasionally) incoherent lyrics. some of their singles are a little faster to make them better for the dancefloor.

check out - In Dub (LP), The Phantom/Ozone Breakdown (12"). and buy that copy of Women Respond To Bass and send it to me, if it's the one with the RSW Megamix on the b-side, i've been looking for it for AGES... Don't bother picking up the RSW remixes, unless you are really into dub.. (the one with the polygon lion on the front...) I thought they were a might boring (altho there were pretty hardcore at 45 :) Don't know much about "Women respond to bass" tho imho Skye -- M. train wreck! I feel like a beat that's off tempo...slower...behind... herd of elephants! --- Just catching up on my email...I'm a week behind, so if some of the things which I may ask have already been answered, just ignore... For example, RSW's style has been elaborated on by Drukman. thanks -djkc
