X-Mix-1 featured MFS artists. X-Mix-2 was some trance thing. I looked at the artists and none of them were especially notable. X-Mix-3 was some ambient thing. There are many notable tracks on here including Sven Vath, Aphex Twin, the Orb and several FAX tracks. X-Mix-2 and 3 don't exists on CD or vinyl because they were videos only (to the best of my knowledge). I think the only reason X-Mix-1 was released was because MFS decided to release it since it's a rather grand compilation of their artists. It is available on vinyl as well as CD. I've always wondered why MFS releases are so cheap here in the US. They're priced like domestics. I've picked up O3O, Cosmic Baby, X-Mix-1 and two United Frequencies of Trance albums for $8.50 on vinyl. If they're made in Germany they should have import prices but I'm not complaining. No, no, no, no. You are talking about the 3-LUX series. X-MIX-1 is the fourth in the series. X-MIX-2 & 3 do not yet exist. 3-LUX (video only) the trance mix 3-LUX-2 (video only) the hard mix 3-LUX-3 (video only) the ambient mix X-MIX-1 (video,CD,vinyl) the MFS trip The concept of the series is to have a >60min video which is a DJ/VJ mix-tape. Each music track has a psychedelic video track (created by a leading European video artist). Each tape contains a compilation of a dozen or so tracks, where the music is mixed flawlessly (by a DJ) and the videos are also mixed flawlessly (by a VJ, I presume). All the artists (in both media) are credited. I suppose the series was becoming so popular that the creators decided to release the music separately (and in addition to) the videos to make more money. -malc.

I bought 3-Lux-2: The nonstop techno-trance video mix and 3-Lux-3: a journey through ambience (a little sticker on the front says warning! includes aphex twin and the orb) at HMV in New York City last summer. The videos are from Germany, STUD!O K7 in Berlin. Any decent video shop should be able to get them. ___ / / / / / / _ __/ (_/__/ / (__ (__ ___/
