Joyrex J9 written by a certain Mr. James is VERY noisey very hard fast techno in a similar mould to those nutty short tracks to be found on some Aphex 12's. Theres also a good fast bassey number in the mould of some analogue tape echo style Reggae of course spead up to 160 bpm! IMHO its not a bad ep, not wonderful - just a bit too hard. But the Reggae number is well lush. The 12' has a black label on one side with Caustic Window in red on it and a photo of some crincled tin foil on the other! Alsol comes in one of those sleeves you get mailed records in... Cheers Chris (707 basher)

Huh? The last song on the crinkle side? Hmm... gotta figure out the track listing on this one.

Gotta agree with you. Though it depends on what kind of mood you're in. Sometimes the grit just feels like you do. Which one is the Reggae one? The last one on the crinkle side? You listening to it at 45 or something? Hmmm... You forgot to mention the little packet of pop-gum that comes with the record and the label on the back. There's this schematic of a FET and message: "CAUTION The manufacturers of this package will not accept responsibility for any brain damage, hearing loss or haemorrhaging resulting from reception of the recordings within." Well maybe that's on all aphex releases. I dunno. But I thought it was cool. tfinn@crash.cts.com (Preferred) The Finn/ VLA

Look at the RJ Discography...

I would imagine so, since it is supposed to be played at 45rpm. _______ (__,-, \ / /\ \ f l u i d /,_) \ \ (/ \\ brit@bach.udel.edu \) flu'id (floo'-)

yes you can tell this by the "We are the the Music Makers" sample. jimM

The old "dub vs. hardcore" argument.

Wow... I feel like a plonker. :P Well everything else is so distorted, you don't really know. Plus the porno sample sounds good at 33 & 1/3... tfinn@crash.cts.com (Preferred) The Finn/ VLA
