I was wondering if someone could help me out? Have there been any good electronic pop/or rock albums released in the past year or so? I like a lot of the post rock stuff (tortoise, trans am, mogwai, ect..); i liked the latest nin album; i like bjork and massive attack. I'm just curious as to whether or not i am missing out on some good stuff? any help appreciated THANKS turk --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Both Solex albums (on Matador) are very nice. The second (_Pick Up_) is the more experimental of the two. Saint Etienne and Komeda do a good job of fusing electronics into "straight" pop. Of course, there's Stereolab, buty I figure you're already aware of them. -d.w. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I liked the last Folk Implosion a lot and I thought Magnetic Fields' "69 Love Songs" box was just stellar. jeff PLeXitMIND@aol.com wrote:

There's a mailing list for this kind of stuff.. well, anything that falls through the cracks between electronic and "band" stuff, really. It's called 'pure-impure', after the Seefeel tune, and a quick web search (including something about mailing lists, of course) should allow you to track it down. It's also nice and quiet. Bloody IDM. ;-) Michael -+- Jet Jaguar MP3s http://mp3.com/jetjag/ -+- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Check out I Am Spoonbender... it's synth pop with an experimental edge with drums and programming by a guy who toured with the Damo Suzuki Band (ex-Can). www.iamspoonbender.com Trevor --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
