Alien Dreamtime was recorded at a multi-media rave event in San Francisco
last February. This crystalline recording captures McKenna's neo-shamanistic
message about the relationship between psychedelic plants and the progression of
human consciousness over the ever-mutating electronic soundscape provided by
ambient-house explorer, Space Time Continuum. Terrence McKenna is the author
of Food of the Gods, Archaic Revival, and True Hallucination, and co-author,
with Dennis McKenna, of The Invisible Landscape: Mind, Hallucinogens, and the
I Ching. McKenna has spent twenty-five years studying shamanism and what he
calls the ethnopharmacology of spiritual transformation. Through his books
and speaking engagements McKenna has become the shamanistic guide of the rave
generation. Space Time Continuum is the brainchild of San Francisco resident
Jonah Sharp, who has made a name for himself playing live in and around raves
in the San Francisco area. STC combines the fluid flow characteristic to
ambient-house with a gorgeous melodic sensibility that, while drawing
comparisons to the likes of The Ord, Aphex Twin, and Future Sound of London,
is compellingly his own.
