This isn't true. It's as much a compilation as 'Transmitting from Heaven' or 'Instinct Dance' is. Otherwise, why would the track called "Carceres ex Novum" by Xeper on 'Bytes' be credited as "Xeper! (Remix)" by Black Dog on the 'Trance Europe Express' compilation? The tracking is goofy because the "Phil (x)" tracks (credited to Echo Mike) are tracked with the longer tracks (which annoys me to no end). The use of pseudonyms is nothing new in dance music. There are only three guys in Black Dog Productions, which, if I'm counting right, makes seven possible combinations. There are eight "groups" credited on 'Bytes' (Atypic, Balil, Close Up Over, Discordian Popes, Echo Mike, I.A.O, Plaid, and Xeper), which leads me to believe that the group names don't even represent differing lineups within the band. Apparently, as I have been told by a reputible source, the Black Dog Productions lp 'Bytes' wasn't just Black Dog, but a whol bunchapeople from the BDP folds. The bands are actually listed on the CD after the track, that's why the CD at first glance seems to be 18 tracks long, when it's only 11.
