Ummm... musical roots... well i really dont have much When i was young young i used to listen to Peter and the Wolf, Fanatasia and Jesus Christ Superstar and that was about it.. but i listened to them OVER AND OVER AND OVER again... Then there was a tape of a musical i was in... 365 Days of Christmas.. and i listened to that a lot Also there were all the stuff i sung in church each week and my great stint in the children's choir where i would stand up and yawn for 30 minutes Hmmm... secular music was an overall no-no for me to listen to and i think the most i heard was Dirty Deed Done Dirt Cheap that i listened and reviewd as a Satanic Devil Worshipping song for class in first grade i dont even remember listening to music till about 5th or maybe 6th grade oh.. there was that short period of life where i was trying to break dance to Freakazoid on the playground but that didnt last too long cuz we had to have someone review the music first and make sure it wasnt satanic and it turned into a big scandal and stuff i might have actually listened to Magic 106 cuz i had a clock radio and needed to put it on somethign then it changed from Magic 106 (which i cant remember what that played) to Power 106 and i liked that... Stacey Q, shoot.. i cant even remember they still play half the same stuff.. but poppy dance and whatever stuff but anyhow.. i was stuck there for awhile in the 9th grade i was into rap and "alternative" music aka mainstream alternative.. and i was in love with the Cure and Depeche and the Pogues and whoever four songs stick out in my mind from this time Head Like a Hole, Onion Skin (?), Tied Up, and something by a group called scatterbrain (?) dont know why i mention that.. when i went to college i got involved in alternative radio and started listening to more poppy punk and folksy stuff (nirvana and roger manning) then later on that year a really hot new alternative commercial station was supposed to come on the air and everyone was talking about how cool it would be and it was currently playing dancey stuff which i thought was a great joke cuz it was going to start playing this real cool grunge/punk/whatever mix when it really went on... it didnt.. it played Madonna, C&C Music Factory, More Madonna, Front 242 BiGod 20, KMFDM, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, and all this really dancey stuff and i couldnt figure it out at all i liked the industrial stuff i had gotten a taste of F242 earlier and liked the "Red Rover Red Rover Bring David Right Over" sample and enjoyed some of the other dancey industrial stuff i kept listening to that station and realized that there really isnt THAT much of a diffrence between Dancey industrial and Dancey Pop and started enjoying dance music... and then they started playing LA Style and Kicks Like a Mule and then i started going to these Rave things they were advertising and well... so really i have no knowledge of musical history or anything and you should generally ignore me if i make comments that regard such (except i still say that the only industrial music is on the label of that name) and just for general music tastes i like the following bands muffs, rabbit choir, sisters of mercy, Pogues, Christy Moore, Uncle Fester (aka sinead), Yo La tengo, Bachir Attar, Zakir Hussain shoot.. like i cna list them.. and that one Barney song... i love you.. you love me.. o/~ , dana
