It's called _Closer Colder_; it's on the Leaf label; and it's out now or will be out any day. It is indeed a great album. Dave Segal Managing Editor/Alternative Press Reviews/BPM/Reissue Redux/Origins Of Cool Secret Ions on WCSB Thursdays 9-11PM EST www.wcsb.org

I picked up a nice piece of IDM today... Faultline - Closer Colder on Leaf, I liked the reviews on the CD sticker and have wanted to check out this label so I took a chance and am very glad I did! Noisy (mostly) slow beats, quite dark at times, change suddenly in tempo, tone and volume, a nice contrast to sweet melodies of both electronic and lots of real instruments too. Distorted jungly basslines appear in a few tracks as do a few interesting vocal samples. The last track "Partyline Honey" is great, more of a regular trip-hop beat I guess I'd say with a distorted pad, sleazy telephone vocal samples and harmonica. Nice hidden ambient track at the end too. I've given this two listens and it looks to be going onto my best of 1999 list!
