this album is incredible!
i cant believe that the focus of the techno world hasnt been turned
towards this talented 'goon'.His tracks are so unique, his style so
broad and warm! I might well be gushing, but to find music like this
is a revelation. Twenty or so high quality tracks (a couple of duff
ones, in there for fun i suppose). I really feel like im getting
inside this guys mind when i listen to tracks like funkydrunk, dx oh
god i might as well list them all.
Anyway i should try to describe some of the tracks:
funkydrunk runs a cosmic melody against a james brown style beat,
haunting ambience with a well structured verse/chorus pattern. I like
listening to this when im sitting under my tree, it bring me close to
tears.
dx is a madcap dance trip with another cosmic melody (straight from
the tongue of an angel)
people compare goon to aphex twin, personally i cant see the
similarity, i think the goon is 'out there' and he's inviting you over
for a cup of tea, take it while you can...
