NEW ELECTRONIC MUSIC LABEL BELLADONNA RECORDS ANNOUNCES FIRST RELEASE
Madison, WI, June 10th, 2006 - Belladonna Records is gearing up for their
first release, "Belladonna Records Summer Compilation". The label is
operated by electronic music
producer and promoter Samarah and founder Phillip Bryant. Belladonna was
originally created in April 2005 as a netlabel aspiring to embrace
technology as a platform for listeners to discover new music by releasing
MP3 albums. The label gained momentum with a growing roster of artists and
fan base, which led to the decision that introducing physical releases
was a natural progression. "We wanted our first release to represent and
define the label's direction and felt that a compilation was the best way to
do that," says Samarah. "It's like making a mix tape of your favorite
songs...we just want to share with everyone our favorite music."
The summer themed album features an electronic blend of downtempo, trip hop,
indietronica and some edgier glitch hop and idm. The track listing of 19
songs includes Lackluster (Merck), Justin McGrath (Alphabasic), Phortran
(Soulseek), The Saturnines (input/output), and Samarah (Zod, Belladonna),
Chimp Logic (Belladonna), The Great Mundane (Belladonna) and many more!
Belladonna plans to continue releasing innovative music in the electronic
spectrum as a labor of love with the hopes of eventually being profitable
enough to support their artists and endeavors further. The label prides
itself on its DIY ideals and believes in promoting positive creativity and
community with their motto "Music. Art. Life. Love." which they hope to
convey through their releases, aesthetic and actions.
Preorders will be taken through the label's website starting Friday, June
16th and will include free shipping, bonus merchandise and even free tickets
to the CD release party at Cafe Montmartre in Madison, WI on Saturday, July
15th.
