Mostly a jungle thing, remixes that were only available to certain bigger DJs who were connected to the original artist, or who the original artist wanted to curry favor with to get their track out there...
It's ironic on the mu-ziq 12" because the VIP mix is specifically LESS dancefloor friendly. Unless he's implying that the "IDM fans" (or whatever you want to call us) are the VIPs. Because I remember hearing the original mix initially and saying, "Damn, this is really boring."
Then again, he did Urmur Bile Trax, and I can't understand what he was getting at with that.
