Tuesday May 16:
Doormouse [his only area show]
Doofgoblin
A Drop In Silence
Charlottesville, VA [1.75 hrs from DC, 1 hr from Richmond, 1 hr from
Harrisonburg, 3 hrs from Baltimore]
10PM, $5
Dust Warehouse [1304 B East Market St]
Doormouse [Addict Records], based in Miami, has been noted as an originator
of breakcore and the Godfather of midwest hardcore (he's originally from
WI), with past releases on Planet Mu, Sublight, Zod, Violent Turd, and Cock
Rock Disco. Dan Doormouse will be performing with live drummer Anonymous
on the Staggering Sobriety tour.
Tell your friends in far away places, for this is Doormouse's only area
appearance (unless you live in New Jersey or Pittsburgh).
Doofgoblin [Unschooled Records], now living in Charlottesville, will
perform as well. Doofgoblin offers up a chaotic pitch of improvised IDM
and techno noise catering to nail biters and short attention spans.
A Drop In Silence has visited Charlottesville once before and nearly busted
the windows out of the Tea Bazaar with their impactful (not a real word),
live IDM. Recently they played the Signal Electronic Music Festival in
Chapel Hill and a Percussion Lab party in NYC. Happy to have 'em back.
