This really depends on the top dj. I've booked some "international
headliners" that would be considered extremely affordable..
Some djs have motivation towards coming to certain areas, some want more
exposure even though they have it already. Prefuse 73 likely plays for
cheaper in Atlanta because his family lives here and so does he (back
and forth from spain).
It also depends on how recent their most recent release is.. The later
the release, the less expensive they SHOULD be.
One thing I would recommend is never deal with a tour manager/booking
agent if you have the chance not to. I've had unpleasant experiences
and because of them I either speak with the artist or else there's
plenty more acts out there. That founder of a genre crap doesn't fly
with me.
But that's just me. When did what I say ever count?
